Flora (Copy of a painting by Titian (1485/90–1576), c. 1515–20, in the Uffizi, Florence)
It has not been established whether Titian’s painting depicts Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers and spring, or a Venetian courtesan. The picture’s sensuous, erotic aura made it very popular, and in the nineteenth century it was one of the most frequently copied works in the Uffizi.
