Dear visitors,

Due to recent circumstances, the security provisions in our museums have been strengthened. Please note our house rules.

Opening Hours

Alte Pinakothek
MON closed
TUE and WED 10.00 a.m. - 8.30 p.m.
THU-SUN 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.

Neue Pinakothek
From 31 December 2018 on the Neue Pinakothek is closed to the public for structural reasons and in preparation for a comprehensive renovation scheme. A selection of masterpieces of 19th-century art is on show on the groundfloor of the Alte Pinakothek (East Wing) and in the Sammlung Schack.

Daily except MON 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
THU 10.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Museum Brandhorst
Daily except MON 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
THU 10.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Sammlung Schack
Daily except MON and TUE 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
Every 1st and 3rd WED in the month 10.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Special Opening Times on Public Holidays

Special Opening Times on Public Holidays

On public holidays, the three Pinakotheken, Museum Brandhorst, and Sammlung Schack are usually open at the times that regularly apply for that day of the week. Exceptions to this rule are announced in advance. In rare instances opening hours are subject to change; please check the website for public announcements closer to the date.

All our museums are open on the following public holidays:
Easter (Good Friday to Easter Monday)
Ascension Day (Christi Himmelfahrt) (18. May 2023 | Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst close already at 6 p.m.)
Whitsun (Whit Sunday and following Monday)
Boxing Day (26 December | Alte Pinakothek closes already at 6 p.m.)
New Year’s Day (1 January)
Epiphany (Heilige Drei Könige, 06 January 2024)

All our museums are closed on the following public holidays:
Shrove Tuesday (21 February 2023)
Labour Day (Tag der Arbeit, 1 May)
Christmas Eve (24 December)
Christmas Day (25 December)
New Year’s Eve (31 December)

Special opening hours apply for the following holidays in 2020:
Corpus Christi (08.06.2023): All museums open (Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst close at 6 p.m.)
Assumption Day (15.08.2023): All museums open (Alte Pinakothek closes at 6 p.m.)
German Unity Day (03.10.2023): All museums open (Alte Pinakothek closes at 6 p.m.)
All Saints' Day (01.11.2023): All museums open (Alte Pinakothek and Schack Collection close at 6 p.m.)
