LOOK AT THIS

Pinakothek der Moderne | Kunst
 ‐

The exhibition LOOK AT THIS invites visitors to reflect critically on the multitude of links between a work of art, the public, the space and the institution. At the same time the show questions firmly established (western) perceptions. LOOK AT THIS asks: what is exhibited and in what way? What role does the space play in this process? What evaluations and attributions are connected to this? What dependancies and power structures are brought to light?
LOOK AT THIS highlights works in the most varied of media by a total of 24 international artists from the past fifty years, including Kristina Buch, Magdalena Jetelová, Victor Leguy, Nam June Paik, Gerhard Richter, David Shrigley and Andreas von Weizsäcker.
The exhibition is a poetical dialogue between the curators Folakunle Oshun (Lagos) and Bernhart Schwenk (Munich). It turns the perception of art and the diversity of perspectives into the actual subject of the exhibition – a process that has also been accompanied by a film project.
