NEUES SEHEN. PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE 1920S AND 1930S FROM THE ANN AND JÜRGEN WILDE FOUNDATION

With the radicalization of its formal language following the First World War, the medium of photography established itself as an artistic medium of expression. Extreme perspectives, narrow framing, magnifications, close-ups, and fragmentations opened up a new view of the world, which in the history of photography came to be known as ‘Neues Sehen’ or ‘New Vision’.
The exhibition shows a selection of photographs from the 1920s and 1930s by Aenne Biermann, Florence Henri, Germaine Krull, Man Ray, and Albert Renger-Patzsch, taken from the collection of the Ann and Jürgen Wilde Foundation.
