FOREVER YOUNG 10 YEARS OF THE MUSEUM BRANDHORST

Museum Brandhorst
 ‐

Museum Brandhorst first opened its doors on 18 May 2009. Though it feels as if it were yesterday, the museum has nevertheless developed significantly: 10 years on from its inauguration, a ‘new’ Sammlung Brandhorst awaits the public. Since opening, the museum’s world-class collection has grown from almost 700 to 1200 works. Artworks by Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Sigmar Polke have been joined by important pieces by Ed Ruscha, Keith Haring, Louise Lawler, and Albert Oehlen. In addition, leading figures in contemporary art have also taken their place in the collection, including works by Seth Price, Wolfgang Tillmans, Charline von Heyl, and Laura Owens. To mark the Brandhorst’s anniversary, Forever Young will display these new acquisitions alongside highlights from the original collection
