10th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ANN AND JÜRGEN WILDE FOUNDATION IN THE BAVARIAN STATE PAINTING COLLECTIONS

Pinakothek der Moderne | Kunst

 ‐

Since 2010 the Ann and Jürgen Wilde Foundation has been affiliated to the Bavarian State Painting Collections. Its extensive holdings – that include the archives of the artists Karl Blossfeldt and Albert Renger-Patzsch, as well as an expansive collection of photographs from the 1920s and 1930s, with works by Aenne Biermann, Alfred Ehrhardt, Florence Henri, Germaine Krull, Werner Rohde, August Sander and Friedrich Seidenstücker, among others – complement and expand the photographic collection of the Bavarian State Painting Collections to an exceptional degree. Twelve, representative key works from the holdings of the collection showcase the Ann and Jürgen Wilde Foundation in the small exhibition room with selected publications and archival items that provide an insight into the wide range of activities carried out over the past ten years.

Under the title Collection+, the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungene (Bavarian State Painting Collections) in the Pinakothek der Moderne will be presenting studio exhibitions within the context of the collection. Presentations of new acquisitions, loans and artist rooms reveal the laborious work involved in gathering, maintaining and researching the collections, shining a light on the scholarly investigations into them and their contemporary relevance.
